Activity spreads across the northern and north-western suburbs, with the central and downtown areas reserved for socials. The tourist core is avoided entirely by locals.
San Antonio drives easily by Texas standards — the loops work and the metro is compact enough that most of it is within half an hour. Austin is close enough that couples attend events in both, and a good number do.
